Youth Pride Day 2012

On Saturday, May 19, 550 young people marched, tumbled, danced, and drummed their way down South Street in the City of Newburgh’s annual Youth Pride Parade. The parade, organized by the City of Newburgh Youth Bureau, has become a local tradition, with hundreds of people lining the street to watch. Participants included local schools, sports leagues, churches and organizations that serve youth, as well as the ever-popular X Factor Band from Mount Vernon, Approaching Storm Marching Band from Brooklyn and Newburgh’s own Dynamic Approach Marching Band. Following the parade, Youth Pride Day continued at the Newburgh Free Library with Family Reading Day, with fun and free activities for all.
