A contractor working for the City of Newburgh will be drilling soil borings at various locations along the Broadway corridor starting on the morning of Monday, January 6, 2020 and extending through Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
The soil boring work will require the contractor to place a truck-mounted drilling apparatus at various intersections located along the north and south sides of Broadway, between Grand Street and Dubois Street. The purpose of these soil borings is to gather information about the soil conditions below Broadway to facilitate the construction of future green infrastructure practices to mitigate combined sewer overflows in the Hudson River.
The City advises the traveling public to be aware of these construction workers, to obey all traffic signage and avoid parking in blocked off parking spaces. Any questions or concerns can be directed to the Engineering Department at (845) 569-7447.
