Notice of Completion of Tentative Assessment Roll - Grievance Day Set for May 25, 2021

Notice is hereby given that the Assessor of the City of Newburgh, County of Orange, has completed the Tentative Assessment Roll for the current year and that a copy of the Tentative Assessment Roll will be left with the Assessor’s Office, 1st floor City Hall, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY. 

Due to public health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, the Tentative Assessment Roll may be viewed at the Assessor’s Office BY APPOINTMENT (845)-569-7333. The Tentative Assessment Roll will also be published online at the City of Newburgh’s website https://www.cityofnewburgh-ny.gov/assessor/pages/assessment-roll.

The assessor will be available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and will be in attendance with the assessment roll on the following days: Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 pm.; Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Saturday, May 15, 2021; Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.   

The Board of Assessment Review will meet by appointment on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Activity Center, 401 Washington Street, Newburgh, NY, to hear and examine all complaints in relation to assessments on the written application of any person believing her/himself to be aggrieved.  All applicable COVID-19 safety precautions will be in effect. No person will be admitted to the Activity Center without a face covering.  Occupancy limits and social distancing will be strictly enforced. Application forms (RP-524) to file a grievance are available at the office of the City Assessor or online at the City’s website https://www.cityofnewburgh-ny.gov/assessor/pages/assessment-roll.

Grievance form (RP-524) must be received by May 25, 2021 and should be mailed or hand delivered to the Assessor’s Office, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550.
