We are committed to keeping you informed about developments regarding COVID-19. Please know you can find lots of information on the City of Newburgh website at www.cityofnewburgh-ny.gov.
Food pantries, food hotlines and occasional bulk food events are operating in our community. Please share this information with people who are in need. The people and groups who make these resources possible are working harder than ever to meet demand and our online list indicates how you can reach them to offer help. The Newburgh Armory Unity Center will host a food distribution on Wednesday of this week at 4pm. The group has been hosting these events on a weekly basis since the outbreak began and they are reaching hundreds of people each time. We are grateful for the organizations that have jumped in to help our most vulnerable neighbors.
In early April, we announced extensions for a number of payment deadlines to help people during this unprecedented time. The next affected deadline is for the third nstallment for Real Property Tax. This was extended from 6/5 to 7/20 without fees. An extension is available for the fourth installment as well. City Hall remains closed to visitors at the moment and these payments can be made via mail or phone. We are looking forward to being able to safely open our doors to the public in the near future.
Are you subscribed to the City’s monthly e-newsletter? Each month we blast out a summary of developments, happenings and behind-the-scenes snapshots that may be of interest to the community.
