The Council also has responsibility for issuing Certificates of Appropriateness for any projects within the designated waterfront area as required by the NYS Dept. of State. These Certificates are considered in the planning process.
The CAC, in conjunction with the City of Newburgh Planning Dept. and a planning consultant have been updating the Local Waterfront Redevelopment Plan (LWRP). The new Zoning regulations (Link) for the City will now be incorporated into the LWRP so that the updates can be completed and submitted to NYS Dept. of State for comment and approval.
