Summer is finally here and although most COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks and follow social distancing in accordance with federal CDC guidance. City Government is here to help and please know that you can find lots of information on the City of Newburgh website.

Please be advised, a section of Second Street will be closed to all traffic between Grand Street and Montgomery Street on Monday, July 19, 2021 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. A contractor working for the City of Newburgh will be working on the sewer infrastructure along this length of the roadway. Traffic should avoid the area if at all possible.

Attorney Anika Mohammed has been appointed as City of Newburgh Court Judge following the retirement of City Court Judge Peter Kuklin. Judge Mohammed is a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley and a former Assistant District Attorney in Orange County.

The Police Community Relations and Review Board, in conjunction with the Police Department and We Are Newburgh, will be hosting a Community Appreciation Day on Saturday, July 24, at Downing Park from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come join for a day of fun, free food, raffles, backpacks and receive assistance for your COVID Vaccine. Legal Services of the Hudson Valley will be in attendance to address questions from City residents concerning their legal rights as tenants.

Join the City of Newburgh on its National Night Out, on Tuesday, August 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. National Night Out offers FREE family fun, games, food, activities, and all sorts of entertainment. Your participation will help strengthen and promote the relationship between law enforcement and our community! Interested vendors are encouraged to register for the event.

Central Hudson will be working on the Natural Gas Replacement Project with Precision Pipeline Solutions this July to install new natural gas distribution mains and service lines for properties throughout the City of Newburgh. If your service line is affected, Precision Pipeline Solutions will contact you to schedule an appointment for its replacement.
