[ARCHIVED] City of Newburgh Announces Start of $1 Million Street Resurfacing and Paving Project

Paving Announcement

The City of Newburgh is pleased to announce the start of a

$1 million citywide street resurfacing and paving program to begin the week of September 25th. The Newburgh City Council prioritized and approved the citywide repaving program as part of the 2023 City budget.

Temporary NO PARKING signs with effective dates will be posted throughout impacted neighborhoods in advance of milling and paving to notify residents of temporary parking restrictions. These signs will remain in place until paving concludes. The list of streets to be paved is as follows:

  • White Street
  • Thompson Street
  • Hawthorne Avenue
  • Shipp Street
  • Townsend Avenue
  • Park Avenue
  • Gidney Avenue (from 9w to Liberty Street)
  • Carpenter Avenue (from North Street to Third Street)
  • Willett Avenue
  • Dubois Street (from South Street to Third Street)
  • South William (from 9w to Water Street)
  • Monument Street (from Renwick Street to Bay View Terrace)
  • Bay View Terrace (from Monument Street to Liberty Street)

The Department of Public Works oversees all aspects of road resurfacing and has worked in close collaboration with both the Water and Engineering Departments to ensure that multiple schedules for infrastructure maintenance align. The City of Newburgh appreciates the public’s patience during completion of the Fall paving program.
