Summer is finally here and although most COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks and follow social distancing in accordance with federal CDC guidance. The City of Newburgh Police Community Relations and Review Board (“PCRRB”) will hold a special meeting later today at 6:30 p.m. at the Activity Center, 401 Washington St., Newburgh, NY 12550. All are welcome to attend. Members of the public who wish to view and/or provide comments during the PCRRB meetings must attend in person. Those attending must wear a face mask at all times while inside the Activity Center.
The 2021 Summer Playground Series is now live! The youth can enjoy recreational activities throughout various City Parks, Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until August 13. Free breakfast & lunch will be provided thanks to the collaboration of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District's lunch program. No registration is required to participate in the Playground Series.
The City of Newburgh Recreation Department is now hosting the Youth Developmental Soccer and Basketball League! The first week for both leagues is offered FREE-OF-CHARGE. Register at the Activity Center - 401 Washington St., Newburgh, NY 12550. Practices and games are held at the Delano Hitch Park Soccer Field and Basketball Courts.
Storm King Art Center is offering several free admission days this summer as well as a free round-trip shuttle service for residents of the City of Newburgh. The shuttle will pick up and drop off visitors at the Newburgh Free Library. Register online to reserve your tickets for admission or for the shuttle service today!
As a friendly reminder, the 2021 Summer Film Festival screening of "Cool Runnings" will be held on July 15 and begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. Attendees will be provided with free popcorn, and are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Food Trucks are welcomed to park along Ann Street, next to Safe Harbors Green.
