[ARCHIVED] CITY OF NEWBURGH HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX GOES INTO EFFECT APRIL 1

Reminder Tax Hotel

The City of Newburgh is reminding businesses and travelers that beginning April 1, 2023 overnight stays in the City of Newburgh at hotels, motels, inns, BnBs, vacation rentals, short term rentals, and rooms or properties secured through online hosting companies and room remarketers are subject to a 5% City hotel room occupancy tax.

Every individual, business, hosting company, and room remarketer renting out property or rooms for short-term stays in the City of Newburgh is now required to register for a Certificate of Authority by filling out the Application for Certificate of Authority. Additionally, every registrant is required to collect the tax, or ensure the tax is collected, and submit quarterly returns to the City.
