The City of Newburgh is seeking volunteers to serve on the Newburgh Housing Authority (NHA) Board of Commissioners to fill 2 positions. Individuals interested in serving must apply by April 17, 2023.
The NHA is an independent agency governed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide rental housing or rental assistance to low-income families, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
The NHA meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Mullins Courtyard Apartments or the Fogarty Apartments in the City of Newburgh. Appointment to the NHA Board of Commissioners is made by the City Manager. Appointed individuals will fill the remaining portion of any unexpired term or a full term of 5 years from and after the expiration of the terms of their predecessors in office.
City of Newburgh residency is a requirement to join. Interested individuals may submit an application online here: https://cityofnewburgh.seamlessdocs.com/f/BoardApplication.
Paper copies of the application are available in the office of the City Clerk at 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550. Applicants may submit a letter of intent in lieu of an application. The letter of intent must contain answers to the questions found in the application available online or in the office of the City Clerk.
All applications not completed and submitted online through the City’s website and all letters of intent must be returned via regular mail or by hand delivery to the City of Newburgh Executive Office, attn: City Manager, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550 or via e-mail to Boards@cityofnewburgh-ny.gov
