The City of Newburgh Citizens Advisory Committee seeks volunteers to serve on the City of Newburgh’s next Districting Commission to evaluate the existing wards and redistrict them as necessary so that they remain compact and contiguous and in compliance with established standards of State and Federal law.
The Districting Commission is comprised of seven (7) members who are City residents eligible to vote and not elected government or political party officials. The Citizens Advisory Committee will review the applications submitted, verify that they meet the eligibility criteria stated in City Charter Section C1.21(C) and provide a listing of qualified applicants to the City Council. Each Council Member will appoint one member from the list of qualified applicants to Districting Commission.
City residents interested in serving on the Districting Commission may submit a completed application form to City of Newburgh Executive Office, attn: City Manager, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550 or e-mail to Boards@cityofnewburgh-ny.gov.
