[ARCHIVED] CITY OF NEWBURGH HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY DECEMBER 13TH

Annual Tree Lighting 2022

The City of Newburgh’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting event will take place at the corner of Broadway and Grand Street at 6:00pm on Tuesday, December 13th. The event is free and open to the public and will feature a special visit from Santa Claus.

For more than 30 years, the City of Newburgh Department of Public Works (DPW) has undertaken the City’s annual holiday hunt for the perfect Blue Spruce, which they deliver downtown and decorate to help mark the season. This year’s tree – a 2,000-pound Blue Spruce standing more than 30 feet tall - was donated by Humberto and Linda Alvarez of the Town of New Windsor.

As always, this festive tradition would not be possible without the dedication of DPW Superintendent George Garrison, and DPW staff who go above and beyond to make this event possible each year.
