Lead Service Line Replacement Program

2022 Lead Service Line Replacement 350px (PNG)

The City of Newburgh City Council has funded the Lead Service Line Replacement program with $1 million dollars in American Rescue program funding to replace lead water service lines from the City’s water main to home owners water meter.

The lead service line program will provide up to $10,000 per project to replace lead service line. The program will continue throughout 2023 until all funds are expended.

The application is available in English and in Spanish. All interested residents should call the City of Newburgh Water Department 845-565-3356 to get started.

The corrosion of lead pipes causes lead to leach into water flowing through lead pipes and potentially into drinking water. The City will prioritize projects in the City of Newburgh where there is a high density of lead service lines and a high density of children.

For more information about the actions taking place in Newburgh and how to reduce your potential exposure to lead, please visit the City of Newburgh Water Department website.
