Text Newburgh

The City of Newburgh communicates emergency alerts with the public to ensure clear and effective communication about important events and situations that affect public health and safety. The notification system is powered by CodeRED, a high-speed communication service that can contact residents and businesses via telephone, email, text, and/or TDD message. Notifications can be sent to a City-wide audience or to a designated street or neighborhood.

Users can create an account to enable them to update their profile if information changes. The information will be used for emergency notification purposes only. It is important that users indicate their physical Newburgh address. Do not use a post office box or out of town address.

No one should automatically assume they are already in the database. Businesses, as well as individuals, should register, as should people with unlisted phone numbers, those who have changed their phone number or address within the last year, and people who use a cell phone as their primary phone. Cell phones and landlines can be included. Users who have recently moved but kept the same listed or unlisted phone number are encouraged to update their information in the database.

Please register today! Users can sign up on the Newburgh CodeRED enrollment page where they can manage account preferences. Once again, the system uses landlines as the primary means of communication. As such, residents and businesses may receive some notifications without signing up. However, it is still important to sign up to ensure the City has multiple paths to reach people.

Users without Internet access or those with difficulty enrolling or changing their information are encouraged to call the City Manager's office at 845-569-7301, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm.
