The Board of Ethics is constituted under City Code §34-5 and consists of five members appointed by the City Council for five-year terms. A chairperson of the Board of Ethics is selected by a majority vote of the existing members.
The Board of Ethics renders advisory opinions to the officers and employees of the City of Newburgh with respect to Article 18 of the General Municipal Law and §34-5(F) of the City code pursuant to the written request of any member of the general public, any officer or employee of the City of Newburgh or any member of the Board of Ethics.
Meetings
- The Board of Ethics will meet as soon after appointment as practicable with specific meeting times determined by member availability.
