Garbage Schedule

Properly contained garbage is collected curbside throughout the City according to the following scheCity of Newburgh Garbage Schedule Mapdule and map:

North Side

  • Garbage must be put out on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. or later for Monday pickup
  • Garbage must be put out on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. or later for Thursday pickup

South Side

  • Garbage must be put out on Monday at 6:00 p.m. or later for Tuesday pickup
  • Garbage must be put out on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. or later for Friday pickup

Properties on Broadway, from West Street to Grand Street, has daily pickup Monday through Friday.

Properties that front the Street associated with the Garbage Schedule Boundary shall be picked up in accordance with the North Side schedule.


Holidays

There is no sanitation collection on City Holidays. All notice of changes of sanitation collection are posted to the homepage of the City website. View the 2023 City Holiday schedule (PDF).

When a holiday falls on a Monday, the schedule changes as follows:

  • Monday routes are picked up on Tuesday.
  • No Bulk or Yardwaste collection on Wednesday
  • Thursday and Friday routes remain unchanged
  • Tuesday routes are picked up on Wednesday
