2009 Free Holiday Dinner to the Community

Volunteers from Air Force Junior ROTC at Newburgh Free Academy helped make the annual holiday dinner possible.

City Staff including Derrick Walters, Maritza Wilson, Joy Pittman, Amanda Scott-Aquino and Vickiana DeMora, with State Farm Agent Sue Zaleski (back row, second from left) and other volunteers from State Farm Insurance also helped with the holiday meal. State Farm insurance donated three bicycles which were given away with toys provided by Hudson Lodge #48.

On Dec. 23, Volunteers from Ebenezer Baptist Church served their annual holiday dinner to around 200 people, with the assistance of the City of Newburgh Youth Bureau, Air Force Junior ROTC at Newburgh Free Academy, and State Farm Insurance. Ebenezer serves free hot meals year round on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and also operates a food pantry on Tuesdays. Pictured with Joy Pittman, Youth Bureau Director (back row center) are Deacon James Ponder, Deaconess Daisy Ponder, Adeline Haynes, Tammy Ponder, Ralph Staples, Charles Pickett, Robert Jorden, James Mays, Tom
