The Broadway Tree was donated by Stephen and Mary Ellen
Weissman in memory of Jeffrey Zachary, a former student of Mrs.
Weissman's and dedicated to Jeffrey and the late Steven "Jake" Olsen,
City of Newburgh DPW tree trimmer, who for many years, made sure the
Broadway tree looked perfect.
Santa brought Christmas joy to many boys and girls (Mayor Nick
Valentine is in the background)
Santa and Deputy Mayor Regina Angelo who has coordinated the
Broadway tree lighting and made ornaments for it, for 21 years. She
also decorates the City Hall tree and the tree at the Newburgh Free
Library, and with the invaluable assistance of the City of Newburgh
Department of Public Works, brings Christmas to Broadway every year.
