The Newburgh Jazz Series 2008, taking place 6:30-8:30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays in July and August, promises some of the best professional musicians and vocalists in jazz and big band swing in the region.
The Newburgh Jazz Series was founded and produced by Ferry Godmother Productions and is co-sponsored by the City of Newburgh. Ferry Godmother Productions Executive Producer Aquanetta Wright, also known as the Ferry Godmother, announced the list of performers for the 2008 event on June 9.

The Newburgh Jazz Series 2007 was a phenomenal flagship year, with 250-350 attendees at each show. Last year the jazz series made history on the waterfront landing in the city of Newburgh by being both the first of its magnitude in the region, and as one of the longest running jazz series on the east coast. The 2008 series will also showcase two visual artists. This year's featured artists are renowned painter and sculptor Richard Outlaw, showcasing his jazz themed works, and award winning photo-artist Ramona Torres, displaying her award winning photographs of Newburgh.
