Vision and Goals Presented in “Town Meeting”
Following nine months of intensive community outreach, the Master Plan Committee presented a vision statement and goals in a "town meeting" on June 26, 2006. The community particpated by marking the goals they thought most important in each category.
During the community outreach, a process dubbed "PlanIt Newburgh," Master Plan stakeholders and community leaders asked residents what they liked most about Newburgh, what they wanted to change, and where they saw Newburgh in the year 2040. Comments from nearly 2,000 questionnaires were used to develop the vision statement and goals.
The committee then began drafting the Master Plan, the City's first in more than 30 years. |
