City Council meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month, with the work session occurring at 6:00 pm on the Thursday prior. (Schedule may change due to Monday holidays; there is only one work session and one meeting during the months of July and August.)
City Council meetings and work sessions are sometimes preceded by meetings of the Industrial Development Agency.

Video recordings of City Council Meetings (not work sessions) run on cable public access Channel 23 on Sundays between 5 and 8 p.m. The previous weeks' meeting is broadcast the next Sunday, unless a meeting of the Orange County Legislature is shown. If so, the Newburgh City Council meeting is be aired on the following Sunday.
