Streamling and Rezoning

The City of Newburgh has completed a comprehensive rezoning process. Effective September 1, 2015, the City has a new zoning ordinance that makes for a more straightforward process to open businesses in Newburgh.

The Zoning Code, Chapter 300 of the City code is available ONLINE and copies are available at the City Clerk's office.  Uses that are Permitted by Right in the Zoning, generally only require sign-off from the Building Department relating to the issuance of Building Permits.  Questions regarding Use can be directed to the City Planner.

If your project does require approvals from a Land Use Board, please contact Eliana Diaz, Secretary to the Land Use Boards to schedule a time to discuss your project.

There is a new consolidated Land Use application that provides instructions for all applications which require a land use board's approval.

A summary presentation on Streamlining and Zoning was presented on October 20th, 2015 and can be viewed below.
