Citizens Advisory Committee

The Citizens Advisory Committee meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at Delano Hitch Activity Center, 401 Washington Street.

Members serve on a volunteer basis.

At the March 26, 2009 Citizen Advisory Committee meeting at the City Activity Center, Deputy Mayor Regina Angelo and the Committee celebrated the 300thanniversary of the arrival of the first settlers to what would become the City of Newburgh.

Citizens Advisory Committee Seeks Members

The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is seeking new members to represent districts within the City of Newburgh. The purpose is to create a committee composed of citizens from the several wards and districts of the City of Newburgh whose duty is to bring to the Council's attention matters relating to quality of life issues in their neighborhoods, preservation of the Historic District or any other suggestions relating to the city and its government.

The Committee acts as a conduit to bring complaints and suggestions of citizens to the attention of the City Council with the goal of revitalization, beautification and restoration of the City’s neighborhoods.

The following vacancies currently exist:

• Ward 1/ District 1
• Ward 2/ Districts 1 & 2
• Ward 3/ Districts 1 & 2
• Ward 4/ Districts 1, 2 and 3
• Ward 5/ District 2
• Ward 6/ District 1 & 2
• Ward 7/ District 2
