"Blending of the Waters"
A Celebration of the Many Nations That Settled Newburgh Beacon Bay
Starting at 2:00 pm:
- Ceremony on top deck of Coast Guard Cutter 'Sturgeon Bay" with 7th grade (vessel to be confirmed). Global Studies students, officials, and representatives of the United Nations, including Press Consul Dr. Heirich Neuman, of the Office of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany. The ceremony will culminate in pouring of water representing each nation into the Hudson River to be blended.
- Dramatic performance by Global Studies students.
- Water cannon spray-show by retired fireboat John J. Harvey, first responder on Sept. 11, 2001.
- PT 728, restored World War II wooden PT boat, on waterfront (near Torches).
Annual Book Sale
10am - 4 pm: Annual book sale (great bargains) at the Newburgh Free Library, 124 Grand Street, Newburgh.

3 pm: Heirloom gardening at Historical Society of Newburgh Bay & the Highlands. For information, call (845) 561-2585 
River Art Walk
Noon-dusk: Original art photography, jewelry, crafts, authors & books, music and more. Hannaford promotional tent & event sponsorship.

Beacon Strawberry Festival
Noon-5pm: Beacon Sloop Club’s annual Strawberry Festival at the Beacon riverfront park.

The Newburgh-Beacon ferry between will be running between 12:30 pm and 8:45 pm, thanks to MTA Metro-North and New York State DOT. Ferries will depart from Metro-North's Newburgh and Beacon ferry docks approximately every 20-30 minutes throughout the day. Ferry fare will be $1 each way.
